Registration, Agenda, Materials: coming in February
New School Board Member Academy Part 2 gives newly elected board members a second opportunity to gain insight into their job responsibilities and to network with their peers. Superintendent and board member communication, the Sunshine Law, Public Records, Florida Standards and Advocacy Tips are tentative agenda topics. Attendance at Part 1 is NOT a prerequisite.
- comparing /contrasting the powers and legal responsibilities of the school board and the superintendent
- school board/superintendent relations
- effective lobbying
- current issues facing school districts
- understanding Florida standards.
The registration fee(s) include all training materials and meeting room expenses in addition to breakfasts, coffee breaks, scheduled luncheons, and receptions.
