Committee weeks are officially underway! In addition to the filed bills you’ll see in the report from Dr. Kim McDougal at the Arrow Group, the Speaker of the House announced in a memorandum (sent to all school board members by FSBA last week) that several bills have been filed to address property tax reform, all of which have language that specifically prohibits an affected government entity from reducing funding for law enforcement. and exempts school taxes. More bills addressing taxation have been filed since that memorandum. We will keep the reports coming weekly as bills continue to be filed.
