Leadership Services Committee*
Plans, guides, and monitors the implementation of the Board Development Program which includes the Certified Board Member and Master Board Programs, the Advanced Boardsmanship Certification, the Certified Board Distinction, new board member and ethics training.
Policy Committee*
Assists in the review, development, and revision of the FSBA Bylaws and Procedures and facilitates the adoption process of any proposed changes.
Finance Committee*
Monitors the financial operation and budgetary process of FSBA.
Equity Committee*
Sensitizes and cultivates positive images and attitudes among school board members on multicultural education issues and recommends program topics for workshops and conferences.
Know & Grow Committee*
The Know and Grow 2.0 Subcommittee shall be responsible for developing and implementing a structured plan to engage and welcome newly elected school board members, and shall ensure active participation in the Association’s Mentor Program.
Federal Relations Subcommittee*
The Federal Relations Subcommittee shall pursue legislative changes consistent with the adopted FSBA Federal platform and shall represent the interests of local school boards before the United States Congress, the Executive branch, and Federal agencies.
Past Presidents' Council* (FSBA Past Presidents Only)
Serves in an advisory capacity to the Executive Officers on issues of governance, seeks ways and strategies to advance the FSBA President’s focus area, recruit leaders for FSBA, and performs other duties as assigned by the FSBA President.

Ad Hoc Committees

Ad Hoc Committee - Emerging Tech
The committee will provide deliverables focused on two parallel tracks: District Innovation and Board Member Productivity. Outcomes include: • District Focus: Best practices for Gen AI in curriculum, policy, and operations (facilities/transportation), including "what to be asking as a School Board Member" regarding district-wide tech investments. • Member Focus: Toolkits and training on using technology for data-driven reporting, community-driven advocacy, and the active use of the FSBA governance platform. • Governance: Sample policies and ethical guidelines for the use of emerging technologies in public meetings and board communications.
Ad Hoc Committee - Connection & Service
This committee will share messages of encouragement and support to help members feel motivated and uplifted. The committee will also create service-learning opportunities for members to model civic engagement in their communities.
Ad Hoc Committee - Health & Vitality
The committee will share best practice information on implementing student health programs and frameworks for health screenings. Additionally, it will provide deliverables focusing on member well-being and stress management to maintain leadership vitality.

Committee Assignment Requests will begin in June 2026 for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.

 

** NOTE – The membership of the FSBA Advocacy Committee is determined as follows:

Each district school board shall designate annually a member and an alternate to serve on the Advocacy Committee as the FSBA Advocacy Liaison, and shall inform the FSBA office of such appointments. In addition, the Advocacy Committee members will then determine the makeup of the Legislative Subcommittee.
