FSBA’s Day in the Legislature highlights our role as the trusted voice for public education in Florida. This annual event connects school board members directly with state policymakers, emphasizing the importance of strong advocacy and informed leadership in shaping education policy. Participants will gain firsthand insight into the legislative process, hearing directly from lawmakers, exploring key education issues under consideration, and learning strategies to effectively communicate with legislators and community leaders. Attendees will also receive timely updates on filed bills, proposed budgets, and their potential impact on Florida’s students and school districts.

Board members may earn Certified Board Member (CBM) points for participating in this valuable leadership and advocacy training.

Member: $175
Guest/Spouse: $150
Non-Members: $375

Registration deadline: Tuesday, January 13, 2026 | Refund deadline: Friday, January 16, 2026 | Note: On-site registration will be available with a $30 late fee included.

Wednesday, January 28 – Program begins at 1:00 PM EST (registration opens at 12:00 PM)
Thursday, January 29 – Sessions conclude at 10:00 AM EST

After Thursday’s program, members are encouraged to meet with their legislators for the remainder of the day.

Reminder: Virtual Board of Directors Meeting

Please note that there will not be a Board of Directors Meeting on Friday, January 30, 2026, as in previous years.
Instead, the Quarterly Board of Directors Meeting will be held virtually on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (EST).
