HOUSE MEMBERS’ SPOUSES GATHER: The House will hold an orientation session for the spouses of new members, with speakers including Shannon Sprowls, wife of incoming House Speaker Chris Sprowls, R-Palm Harbor. (2 p.m. Old Capitol, House chamber, Tallahassee.)
HOUSE REPUBLICANS MEET: The House Republican caucus will meet in advance of Tuesday’s organization session of the Legislature. The meeting will include formally confirming Rep. Chris Sprowls, R-Palm Harbor, as the GOP’s nominee for House speaker. (4 p.m., House chamber, the Capitol.)
SENATE DEMOCRATS MEET: The Senate Democratic caucus will meet before Tuesday’s organization session of the Legislature. The meeting will include formally electing Sen. Gary Farmer, D-Fort Lauderdale, as the Democratic leader for the next two years. Farmer is expected to hold a media availability after the meeting. (4 p.m. Old Capitol, Senate chamber, Tallahassee.)
HOUSE DEMOCRATS HUDDLE: The House Democratic caucus will meet and formally elect Rep. Bobby DuBose, D-Fort Lauderdale, and Rep. Evan Jenne, D-Dania Beach, as co-leaders for the next two years. (6:30 p.m., House chamber, the Capitol.)
