The Florida Standards Assessment Review Selection Panel was established during the 2015 Regular Session in House Bill 7069 for the purpose of selecting an independent entity to conduct an independent verification of the psychometric validity of the Florida Standards Assessment. The selection must occur no later than June 1, 2015, and must consider, at a minimum: (1) the entity’s national reputation and length of establishment; (2) the entity’s experience and expertise in validating psychometric data; and (3) the entity’s use of professional standards, codes, and guidelines addressing applicable practices in the profession, such as the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing. Upon the panel’s selection, the Department of Education shall immediately contract with the entity to perform the independent verification, which must be completed by September 1, 2015.
