This week in Tallahassee, legislators and staff will convene for the first interim committee week. A schedule of the week’s meetings and education-related topics can be found HERE.
- Monday’s schedule includes a procedural briefing and closed security briefing.
- Senate Education will meet Tuesday to discuss K12 scholarship programs and financial aid.
- Wednesday will be busy with a State Board of Education meeting held at Daytona State College (see agenda), Senate Ed Appropriations, and a House Secondary Education & Career Development committee. Topics to be discussed are updates on CARES Act funding, workforce education, and budget workshops.
- Thursday is House Speaker Chris Sprowl’s birthday (wish him a Happy Birthday on Twitter) and will close out the week’s meeting with House and Senate pandemic response committees, updates on the Long-Range Financial Outlook from EDR, and the a meeting of the House Early Learning & Elementary Education Subcommittee.
All meetings will be live-streamed through the Senate and House websites, as well as through the Florida Channel.
