Okaloosa County students encountered a few issues Monday morning as they started taking the Florida Standards Assessments for the first time.
Choctawhatche, Crestview and Fort Walton Beach high schools and Bruner Middle School were all affected, according to district spokesman Henry Kelley.
“The problem was we couldn’t get them (through) the login with the Department of Education,” Kelley said.
The issues were resolved at Choctaw, FWBHS and Bruner, but 150 students at Crestview remained unable to test around 10 a.m.
“While many students across our state are testing successfully, we have heard from some districts that are experiencing difficulties” FDOE spokeswoman Meghan Collins wrote in an emailed statement. “This is a 90-minute test; students have a two-week window, plus a makeup window, to complete the test. Commissioner (Pam) Stewart is looking into any reported issues to determine the cause and will work to immediately resolve it.”
