GAINESVILLE—Education commissioner Pam Stewart on Wednesday said she expects to receive the results of a third-party review of Florida’s new state assessments by next week but offered no detail as to what the department will do if the tests are invalidated.
“We’re waiting on results of the validity study, and as soon as we have that, we’ll be moving forward whichever direction we need to be moving,” Stewart told reporters after a state Board of Education meeting at Santa Fe College.
When asked how the state would handle the possibility of the federally required tests being deemed invalid and unreliable, she said: “Do we have a plan? We’ll be moving forward and deciding what we’re going to be able to do.”
