The 2019 Legislative Session has adjourned, sine die, with public education enjoying some important victories in education funding and policy, but also enduring some significant disappointments. We are still sorting through the final bill actions, including the status of last minute amendments to the bills that are of interest, but we have provided a PRELIMINARY list of the education related bills that passed in the file below. In addition, we are in the midst of compiling our comprehensive FSBA 2019 Legislative Session Summary and will release the Education Appropriations portion of our Summary on Monday with the Education Legislation portion released shortly thereafter. In the meantime, we encourage you to take a few minutes to view our FSBA Weekly Video Update featuring FSBA Executive Director Andrea Messina providing a recap of the main events during this final week of the Session. Also, please be reminded that FSBA will conduct a series of onsite and online Legislative Session Review Workshops and Webinars that will include detailed information on education appropriations and the major education related bills that were approved during the Legislative Session — please see our “Session Review Workshops” page on the FSBA website for more information and registration links for these workshops and webinars.
